Hartland Brooklyn

I adore this girls collection of cards! Absolutely love them! Support her little company because she's got talent and her creations are adorable.

Brownie & baby shopping!

I'm absolutely loving the fact that my best friend is having a baby girl! I love and miss her face so much! Tonight the husband and I were thinking about meandering over to The Grove where I will be taking a little peek into Baby Gap... haven't been there in ages and now that I know Danielle is having a little miss, it's time to look! I've already found a few super cute little goodies for baby. I need more... haha I'm going to spoil this child. We'll kick off her life right with a great collection of SHOES. Baby shoes are my weakness, you have no idea. I have already gotten two pair. So I'll be continuing the shopping for my "niece by friendship"... I'd say her name, but I'm not sure if the bestie is keeping that on the down-low or not. These are the moments, though, where I truly love being an adult. I love that my best friend is having babies. I'll join that club shortly, but for now I just don't feel like it's the right time. I can feel that it's getting there, but just not quite. I'm enjoying my new found freedom in my new home and am not quite ready to add a third little person into our nest just quite yet. ;) I can't even decide when I should get a dog. It seems my decision making abilities are zilch. tsk Not one of my strong suits.

Speaking of dogs we have finally decided when we do get one (we can't have one in our apartment and we're still in a bit of a conundrum with what to do with the creature when we travel) we have decided we want a frenchie! She already has a name, Astrid Everdeen. Yes, my dog will have a name like a child. It's normal.... for my family pets. Anyway, like I said it poses a bit of an issue because I could easily take a dog to my parents house in Michigan but my husband's sister is very allergic so that is the part that makes me want to hold off to see when someone in my family will move out here so I have pet babysitters. ;) Traveling with a pet can be a bit difficult sometimes, I've heard. So we're a little closer now that we have decided what kind we want! I was going to get a persian cat, but I'm a bit allergic and I decided it may not be the brightest idea. I don't want to be sneezing and have red, itchy eyes all the time from my own pet in my own home! Sad. Because I love those cats so much. So cute!

Anyway, like I said we're heading to The Grove and maybe Milk for a blondie. Hope everyone has a lovely Friday night! Be safe. :)

XO

Hello, friends.

I'm so happy it's Friday! This week has had its share of ups and downs. Downs particularly being we got our blasted credit card stolen again from a gas station. Luckily I caught it right away because it happened about 8 months ago, too. Same situation. Needless to say I have 2 police reports to file today in two different cities. SO learn from my mistakes, don't pay at the pump. It seems to be a problem. I had never experienced it before then when we moved out here it happened and now it's happening again. Technically this is the third time I've experienced credit card fraud in 10 months. Not great. So that's been my newest 'situation'. :) I'm not even really frustrated by it; more or less inconvenienced. My bank is really helpful and they really did alleviate some of the stress of the situation.

Anyway, I've been wanting to share some of my current inspirations for upcoming projects but I have been using my ipad for most of my work and it won't let me upload pictures to my blog. So here are a few little things that have tweaked some color inspiration.

Tattly

My lovely tattly temporary tattoo.

Quiet Tuesday

Good morning, my lovely friends!
Monday is over! Yay! I survived! I don't really understand why I'm always surprised by this. Haha I think weekends should be at least 3 days. Three days is much conducive to a recovery from the previous week. Just saying. This should happen. ;)

I'm just sitting here with my Starbucks double shot espresso. I have given up on trying to make my own coffee. I just don't understand. I make it the exact same way every single time but most times I hate it! I've made maybe 5 amazing cups of coffee in my whole coffee-drinking-life. I don't get it. Although I'm not generally into hot beverages. Never have been. I always end up abandoning them for whatever reason. The only hot drink I finish is a hazelnut macchiato. And that's a recent discovery thanks to my sister, Ariel, who introduced me to them when she was here a couple weeks ago. :)

So I would post some pictures but I'm updating this on my iPad, today, so pictures will follow later. Just some inspirational pics for a new project I'm working on.

Updating this blog is my way of getting away from Facebook. I get a little annoyed that everything I do on there is so public. I have a slew of followers and I find that interesting given that I didn't accept their friend requests, due to not knowing who they are, yet to get my updates they can just subscribe to me... Im sure I can probably turn that option off but like I said, I'm stepping away from Facebook. I'm kind of someone who easily can fall into routines so getting out of the rouitine of updating it all the time is surprisingly tricky. So like an addict, I'm heading back to my blog to replace the prior addiction. :) Of course this one is technically more public than Facebook.

Anyway,  I hope you all have a lovely Tuesday. I'm starting my morning off with espresso and The Following.... Even though I don't even really like it.... Then it's time to workout and get to work. Joys of self employment.

Look for today...

 Bangs, simple makeup.

I really need a good full length mirror, this one is sitting on my floor. Anyway, the camo jacket is Forever 21, lacy sweater is Free People and I'm wearing a little grey fitted dress from American Eagle. You can't see my boots, but they're Free People, too. (Miz Mooz)

Got a little creative with my hair; something I don't do often because I'm lazy. Turned out good on the first try.

OH, hello....

Love this!

ANTHROPOLOGIE

Four eyes are better than two, right?

Well, I definitely need glasses! I'm browsing for some nice frames right now. I have found a way to cheat the system. I refuse to pay hundreds of dollars for glasses frames from the eye doctor, so what I do is I buy frames, say from Anthropologie, get my eye exam and have them put the prescription into the glasses I purchased elsewhere. No point in spending hundreds of dollars on something I can get for 40.00. These are the pair I'm going to look into.

I think they're cute. I can't see far away and at night it's a real burden. During the day I don't have much of a problem, the strain on my eyes doesn't feel as bad, but at night it's a whole different story. Driving in LA at night with blurred vision is freaky. Dislike it, so it's time to suck it up and proceed with the inevitable. Like I said, I only need them for seeing far away, so I won't be wearing them 24/7. I know that can make you more dependent and I don't care for that. I'm hoping it might help with the constant squinting that has created what seems to be a permanent crease between my eyes. Lovely. tsk.

Anyway, it's Friday which is one of the best days of the week!
Husband and I are currently getting our taxes done. Dislike, but the government makes me. haha I hate them for that. Sometimes I wonder if self employment  is really worth the trouble I go through at tax time every single year. Such a burden. I miss the days when I worked a stupid job but actually got a refund. ;) Now I always seem to owe them money, which frankly is not something I love.
Alright, I'm done. Hope everyone has a lovely weekend.

XO

Yay for Thursday!

Almost the weekend, almost the weekend! I know someday I'll regret wishing my weeks away, but considering the only person I hang out with is my husband and he's only free on the weekends, sorry but those are just the best two days of the week! Well, Friday is good, too. ;)

Husband and I are planning a trip home in August and just in time for my bestie to bring her little baby girl into the world! (Congrats again to you guys, Danielle and Corey) I'm excited for August! :) Trying to get my aunt Jen to haul her family from South Carolina up to Michigan at the same time so we can see them. I miss them tons! Next year we're continuing our South Carolina vacation. I miss Seabrook Island and Charleston more than you know. I'm super excited to visit my dear old south again. So there is lots to look forward to! For the time being I'm going to be entertaining myself with my work (which I've taken a brief and much needed break from to regroup) and baby shopping! Not for me, in case you forgot my above sentence, it's for my best friend. Have to clarify because I think every time I even mention I'm tired, or my appetite is zilch, or whatever I'm instantly hounded with ARE YOU PREGNANT questions. haha I surprisingly don't hate it, but seriously, friends, when I am pregnant I will let you all know right up front. haha I won't hide it. Although I'll probably want to because I'm not one for attention. I think that is what scares me most about that experience.... ;)

Anyway, I have been browsing good ol Pinterest and have found some fun stuff that is sparking some major creativity in my little brain! I'm utterly obsessed with these colors! I have a bit of a neon craze going right now. I've been working on making my own beads. Like we're talking, the whole bead, not buying pre-made wood beads then painting them. No sir, I make them out of paper clay, wait days for the little beasts to dry and then sand them smooth and drill a hole and thennnnnnnn paint them and finish with a clear acrylic. Yeah, I can't seem to do anything the easy way. But these colors (together) will be making an appearance in my future work. That may take a while to post because like I said, it's a time consuming process and I've been taking a bit of a hiatus to regroup, help me not to quit, remember the reasons that keep me going with this thing called "self employment" and if it weren't for my awesome husband I'd be a starving artist for sure! So a little shout out to the wonderful man who keeps me fed. haha ;)

Well, my friends, I'm trying to get back into the swing of blogging. I'd do it regularly but I can't say I'd be very interesting. So I'll keep it to days where I have some sort of picture to share or idea to throw your way. Also I'll be using this blog to post my business creations as well. I'm kind of  jack of all trades so I do more than make jewelry. I'm getting some new garland ideas. My brain needs a vacation, but when I take a vacation that's when my imagination runs wild! Not a bad thing, but I'm tired. haha

Well, hello there.

I have been inspired lately to get back into the blogging routine. Help get me off Facebook. :) I guess I'll start today!
There is a marathon in LA this weekend so Danny and I are waking up nice and early and escaping into the wilderness for a day exploration and some fun food experiences. :) The plan is to start out with some crepes for breakfast from the French Crepe Company at The Grove Farmer's Market and then head for the hills and do some sight seeing! We LOVE California. Particularly the mountain-y wilderness. We're growing quite fond of the quiet. We got out of the jeep last weekend when up on Latigo Road and just sat soaking up the sunshine and listening to the quiet. All you could here was the breeze in the grass and trees and the bugs. It was perfect! Until a racing motorcycle would fly around the corner, but even that was okay! I'll take that over the noisy city sounds any day! This experience has taught us that we are not city people but will make do until the time is right and we can move to the outskirts where it's less crazy and more peaceful. :)

Well, I will end it with that. I'll take photos and post them. Feel free to follow me. I'll try to keep it interesting, but life is life and not always too nuts! *thank God*
